 Madison Brown Bordley, Jr. (1915- )

Son of Madison Brown Bordley and Helen Elizabeth Brown of James, his wife. Educated at public schools, Centreville, Md.; Washington College, Chestertown, Md. (A.B. 1938); Univ. of Md. (M. Ed. 1952). Married Lydia Ann Mooney 1939 (children: see chart) Career: Md. Trust Co, 1939; Glenn L. Martin Co.1939; Balto. Dept. of Education 1939-43, & 1946-53; Queen Anne’s Co. Bd. of Ed. 1953-73; teacher 1953-54; Guidance Counselor 1954-55; high school principal 1955-65 and Coordinator of Federal Programs 1965-73. On Boards of Directors: Centreville Nat’l Bank 1963-86; Q.A. Co. Historical Soc.; Church Hill Lions Club; Kent & Q.A. Hospital; Kent Hospice Foundation. Member of Chester River Yacht & Country Club. On Vestry St. Lukes Episcopal church, Church Hill, Md. since 1953 & Registrar of St. Lukes Parish since 1965. Served on active duty U.S. Navy 1943-46 in Atlantic & Pacific. Remained in U.S. Naval Reserve and went on Navy retired list 1963, Lieut. Commander & C.O. of Naval composite Unit, Centreville. He lives at "Ripley" near Church Hill, a Grant from Lord Baltimore 1674 to the Brown Family which he inherited 1953 with other farms.
