John Dix (1640-1714)

John Dix was born in Watertown Sept. 4, 1640; he died Nov. 7, 1714 and is interred at Watertown, Mass. He was a soldier in King Philip's war. See Colonial Wars General Index. Also John Hull's ledger account of money paid for military service. Also Bodge

His wife was Elizabeth Barnard born in Watertown. Her father was John Barnard who was born 1604, and died June, 1646. John was a resident of Watertown. Elizabeth's mother was Phoebe born 1607 and died Aug. 1, 1685.
John and Elizabeth were married Jan. 7, 1670.

Their children:
1. Elizabeth, married Stearus [sp.?].
2. John, born Mch. 6, 1672.
3. Mary, died young.
4. Abegail Parks, married;
5. Rebecca, died as an infant;
6. Deborah, married;
7. Edward, born Sept. 25, 1682;
8. Joseph, born Sept. 8, 1686;
9. Jane, baptized Oct. 13, 1689.
