Jonathan Tuttle (1637-1705)

spouse: Rebecca Bell
Jonathan was baptized in Charleston, Mass. July 8 1637.
He began the settlement of North Haven.

Rebecca was the daughter of Lt. Francis Bell and Rebecca at Stamford. Lieut. Francis Bell was one of the twenty-nine settlers of Stamford, Conn. Lieut. Francis Bell: The general court held in New Haven May 30, 1655 confirmed the election of Francis Bell by the Freemen of Stamford as Lieutenant for the ordering of the military affairs for Stamford. Reference - New Haven Colonial Records 1653-55 (Hoadley). Also Page 192 of "The Descendants of William & Elizabeth Tuttle" 1883. Lieut. Francis Bell and his wife Rebecca's daughter Rebecca married Jonathan Tuttle, 4th son of William & Elizabeth Tuttle.

One of Jonathan and Rebecca's children was Rebecca, who married Isaac Dayton.
