Samuel
Ward, born Sept. 24, 1641, died 1729. Samuel Ward was Captain of the Marlborough (Mass.) Military Company, 1679-80 and represented that town in the General Court the same year. See Savage's Genealogical Dictionary Vol. IV p. 413. In Bodge's History of King Philip's War, p. 210, he speaks of him as being assigned as one of the garrison of his father's (William Ward) house named as one of the places to be defended Oct. 1, 1675.
