William Williams 1747-1792

William Williams, born July 9, 1747; died Nov. 10, 1792.
He married Joice Shuttlecock (who died Sep. 6, 1792).
They married April 21, 1773.

Their children:
1. William Williams Jr., born Feb. 6, 1774; died June 26, 1790 at sea with Capt. Asa Clapp within 7 days sail from Portland.
2. Benjamin, born Nov. 13, 1774, died at British West Indies
3. Jonathan M., born Feb. 2, 1778, died in Marine Hospital, N.Y.
4. Charles White, born 1780, died in Kennebunk Oct 21, 1860.
5. Mary Brown, born Nov. 20, 1782 [married ____ Brazier, who died, leaving her a widow; she re-married John Dix]. Mary died October 1819, interred Gorham [sp.?], Me. [sp.?]
6. (Captain) John, born July 25, 1783, died 1863 [original entry of "1862" is corrected to "1863"]; he married Catharine Geally of Boston.
7. Samuel Maverick, born Mar. 30, 1785, killed on board a British Leviathan storming a French Fort up the Straits by a chain shot which cut him in two.
8. Kerry [sp.?], born Jan. 20, 1787, died Oct. 21, 1830 in Boston. Buried in the Granary Burying ground, at head of the Common, Quincy tomb. He was an artist and anatomist and painted the portrait of John Dix, his brother in law who was the father of John E. Dix.
9. Robert, born Feb. 4, 1789. Was washed overboard at sea.
