Letter from Mary Cotter of Meenygorman, Ireland to her brother - Daniel Sullivan at Indianola, Texas.
_____
Meenygorman, Nov. 3rd, 1858.

Dear Brother:

I received your kind and welcomed letter stating you were all well and doing well as this leaves us at present, thanks be to God for his mercy to us all.

The reason I wished to have Anne Cotter come, thinking you might come along with her. But as you have no inclination to come along with her it is my wish to have her remain along with you as she is so well inclined herself. But as I have no chance to ever see any or either of you again I hope Dear Brother you will grant me one request, that is to have your likeness and Annie's sent me as I have no other consolation.

I expect you will write and request of Brother John and Dennis to do the same and have them sent me.

Dear Brother let Anny know that Uncle John died the 20th of October last and that Catherine Cotter was delivered of a young son and was called after her father. She was doing well were not the flood carried about 20L worth of her corn away. Mary is to get more land from her landlord.

We are all well, thanks be to God and I wish you all the same.

Johny is not as yet. Eliza has a great pain in her head. You might have some remedy to get her better of it.

Dear Uncle I intend to keep up correspondence with you and yours for future. I must conclude with wishing you all Good Bye for away.

Mary Sullivan

(Good Bye Dear Uncles and Sister)

John Cotter
